'Hellebores - Tranquillity' by Polly Ruffman 2023

A peaceful painting of hellebores, the classic plant for winter interest. The serene appearance of the flowers contrast against the rich pattern and colour palette within the frame. 

Polly Ruffman is an artist based in Somerset. An avid gardener, she in turn paints the flowers she grows, presenting her work in upholstered frames, using papers and fabrics - some of which she designs herself. Her work is playful, decorative and unique. Painting exclusively with chalk paint, she examines the movement, form, shape and colour of the beautiful flora that inspires her.
