'Sea Holly - Attraction' by Polly Ruffman 2023

Sea Holly depicts the flower known for attraction, and more commonly named the blue thistle. The purple tones of the flora contrast beautifully against the striking red mount and frame - creating impact and interest. 

Polly Ruffman is an artist based in Somerset. An avid gardener, she in turn paints the flowers she grows, presenting her work in upholstered frames, using papers and fabrics - some of which she designs herself. Her work is playful, decorative and unique. Painting exclusively with chalk paint, she examines the movement, form, shape and colour of the beautiful flora that inspires her.
